This website was created to showcase my university work for a unit called ICT in the classroom. For this unit we are required to put ourselves in the shoes of a practising school teacher. We were asked to imagine our school was preparing to integrate ICT more fully in the classroom and to create a website to present a unit of work to our colleagues describing how we would implement ICT in our classroom for a specific area of teaching. The overall project was split into 3 tasks which are described below (UILG, 2014).
Task 1 - Website considerations report
For Task 1 we are required to investigate the affordances of free web creation technologies, to determine which technology best suited our needs and to create a website that will be used to display our work for this unit. We also need to research key design and implementation issues that teachers should consider when developing a website and to reflect on our learning and share it with our colleagues (Parker, 2014). You can view my completed work for this Task is on the EDN205 Task 1 page.

Task 2 - ICT trends & issues video
For Task 2 we were required to research how other teachers are using ICT in their classroom for our selected are of teaching, develop a video script, create a 5 minute online video report summarising our research findings. We published our draft script and video on the web so our peers could view it and provide us with feedback. We then had time to modify and polish our work before submitting the final version for marking. You can view my completed work for this Task is on the EDN205 Task 2 page.

Task 3: Authentic learning unit of work website
For this task we are required to prepare an authentic learning project where students could use technology as cognitive tools to learn about and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding about a specific topic. To complete this task we will need to make many decisions, such as; what teacher area we want to focus on, the target audience (e.g., year level) and select a specific topic related to the appropriate curriculum outcomes. By completing this task we will demonstrate our understanding of how technology can be used by students to complete an authentic learning project.
